Your discovery or invention turned into commercial reality
Are you a biomedical scientist and
- Would you like to do more with your research besides getting a great publication?
- Do you dream of developing your new product?
- Are you not sure if your research has commercial potential for the biomedical market?
- Are you new to IP (intellectual property) issues?
- Don't you know how to get money to implement your plan?
If the answer to (some of) these questions is ‘yes’: Contact us!

* BioMedbooster has been granted the exclusive rights from the University of Maastricht (UM) and the
Academic Hospital Maastricht (azM) to facilitate the exploitation of all new inventions in life sciences.
External scientists have access to the services of BioMedbooster as well.
BioMedbooster's process
In our process we together with the scientist analyse the invention from different perspectives, hereby the scientific foundation, the commercial opportunity, the intellectual property (IP) position, the timeline and the investment required are addressed. In general we start this process with an Invention disclosure form. The end product is often a license deal or a spin-off/new venture.
The result is that we help research reach the market and allow research to generate more research.

BioMedbooster's activities
We deliver tailor-made Business Development and Intellectual Property Protection, give individual support, as well as interactive training days for scientists where you can learn more about relevant issues like patenting, establishing a spin off company, etc.
When to contact us
- before you publish/ present or otherwise make your idea public
- before you sign research agreements/ Material Transfer Agreements
1-2-3: Take Homes Messages on Valorization
1. Ask yourself about potential (commercial) applications of your research
- Could it generate commercial or societal benefits?
- Could it be patentable?
2. If yes, or in case of doubt, check with BioMedbooster (or your "manager")
3. Do so timely before public disclosure/publication
- A publication is any abstract, poster, paper, oral communication, etc.
- Any publication before patenting renders subsequent patenting impossible ('prior art')
- A timely check won't delay your publication
- Timely in this context means at first draft
